Jenny Choi
Introduction Hello! I am Jennifer Choi (but I like to go by Jenny), a sophomore majoring in mathematics at MIT, and I come from Cypress, a small city in California. I am interested in how the abundance of data that currently exists in the world can be used to address urban issues. In my free time, I like to dance, journal, and eat good food :)
Data Visualization Inspiration Here are a few visualization projects that I think are cool/impactful: Visualization of gun deaths in 2013: https://guns.periscopic.com/?year=2013 I find this visualization to be particularly impactful because it's dynamic (i.e. numbers increasing, new arc drawn for each person). Topological data analysis (TDA) on basketball positions: https://www.wired.com/2012/04/analytics-basketball/ I think that TDA is a really interesting new technique in data analysis, especially as a math major!
